When the Sutton Bonington U16 Amazons we first brought together, I knew I had a special group of girls. Some were already seasoned players, others had never played competitive football before – but every one of them brought passion, energy, and a willingness to grow. From the very first training session, you could sense the potential. Fast forward a few months, and they’ve gone from being complete strangers to becoming a tightly knit team, full of confidence, skill, and spirit.
County Cup Finalists in Our First Season
It’s no small feat to reach the County Cup Finals in your debut season – and yet that’s exactly what the girls achieved. Week after week, they’ve shown resilience, discipline, and genuine love for the game. They’ve listened, learned, and pushed themselves beyond what they thought possible. Every tackle, every goal, every team talk – it’s all built towards this incredible achievement. I couldn’t be prouder of how far they’ve come, not just as footballers, but as individuals.
